I have used Joomla and Wordpress and I can say WordPress is far easier than Joomla. I'd install wordpress with minimal supervision, though I am new to coding.

Everyone will have a personal favorite. For me, I prefer WordPress. However, the truth of the matter is that they all have strengths and weaknesses. You need to pick the one that is best suited for your specific needs.

Did you check out Jboss, Jetspeed & Exo?

I like them more then Liferay (which has a lot of portlets out of the box, but is inflexible in the end).

I miss all the ECM systems and only see page oriented templating engines.

I think about systems like Alfresco, Hippo CMS, Nuxeo etc.

They bring innovation on a more technical level: JSR-170, User generated content in secure environments, scalability, open standards, etc.)

Except for Liferay (which is not a CMS, but a portal), this list about web CMS which can be used for small organisation or students / sportclubs.

Hello,
I am in need for further information about Liferay CMS.
We will revamp organization’s portal from .Net to Java.
This portal interact with 50 applications developed by .Net.
Does Liferay provide API for .Net?
If it does not provide .Net API, which open source CMS(provide .Net and Java API) do you recommend?
